Mark 14:1
aIt was now two days before bthe Passover and the Feast of Unleavened Bread. And the chief priests and the scribes cwere seeking how to arrest him by stealth and kill him,

Mark 14:2
for they said, “Not during the feast, dlest there be an uproar from the people.”

as he was reclining at table, a woman came with an alabaster flask of ointment of pure nard, very costly, and she broke the flask and poured it over his head.

Mark 14:7
For syou always have the poor with you, and whenever tyou want, you can do good for them. But uyou will not always have me.

And Jesus said to them, “Have you come out as against a robber, with swords and clubs to capture me?

Mark 14:49

Now the chief priests and the whole council

were seeking testimony against Jesus to put him to death, but they found none.
οἱ δὲ ἀρχιερεῖς καὶ ὅλον τὸ συνέδριον ἐζήτουν κατὰ τοῦ Ἰησοῦ μαρτυρίαν εἰς τὸ θανατῶσαι αὐτόν, καὶ οὐχ ηὕρισκον·
Mark 14:56
fiFor many bore false witness against him, but their testimony fjdid not agree.
πολλοὶ γὰρ ἐψευδομαρτύρουν κατ᾽ αὐτοῦ, καὶ ἴσαι αἱ μαρτυρίαι οὐκ ἦσαν.
Mark 14:57
And some stood up and bore false witness against him, saying,

Mark 14:58
fkWe heard him say, flI will destroy this temple fmthat is made with hands, and in three days I will build another, fnnot made with hands.’”
ὅτι Ἡμεῖς ἠκούσαμεν αὐτοῦ λέγοντος ὅτι Ἐγὼ καταλύσω τὸν ναὸν τοῦτον τὸν χειροποίητον καὶ διὰ τριῶν ἡμερῶν ἄλλον ἀχειροποίητον οἰκοδομήσω·
Mark 14:59
Yet even about this their testimony did not agree.

Mark 14:60
And the high priest stood up in the midst and asked Jesus, “Have you no answer to make? What is it that these men testify against you?”
Or Have you no answer to what these men testify against you?
καὶ ἀναστὰς ἀρχιερεὺς εἰς μέσον ἐπηρώτησεν τὸν Ἰησοῦν λέγων· Οὐκ ἀποκρίνῃ οὐδέν; τί οὗτοί σου καταμαρτυροῦσιν;
Mark 14:61
But fphe remained silent and made no answer. fqAgain the high priest asked him, “Are you frthe Christ, the Son of fsthe Blessed?”

Mark 14:64
You have heard fyhis blasphemy. What is your decision?” And they fzall condemned him as gadeserving death.

hrNow at the feast he used to release for them one prisoner for whom they asked.

For he perceived that hyit was out of envy that the chief priests had delivered him up.

Mark 15:11
But the chief priests stirred up the crowd to have him release for them Barabbas instead.
οἱ δὲ ἀρχιερεῖς ἀνέσεισαν τὸν ὄχλον ἵνα μᾶλλον τὸν Βαραββᾶν ἀπολύσῃ αὐτοῖς.
Mark 15:12
And Pilate again said to them, “Then what shall I do with hzthe man you call the King of the Jews?”

Jesus, he delivered him to be crucified.

Mark 15:16
ijAnd the soldiers led him away inside ikthe palace (that is, ilthe governor’s headquarters),

and they called together the whole inbattalion.
Greek cohort; a tenth of a Roman legion, usually about 600 men

And they clothed him in ipa purple cloak, and twisting together a crown of thorns, they put it on him.

when they crucified him.

And the inscription of the charge against him read, jm“The King of the Jews.”

Mark 15:27
And with him they crucified two jnrobbers, joone on his right and one on his left.
